See what happened. Understand what you recorded.
Bring eligible service, repair, inspection, mileage, booking and energy records into one private timeline. See recorded amounts without pretending they are the complete cost of ownership.
- Private to your account
- Every Timeline event has a source label
- Calculations use recorded values only
Newest events appear first
Example values only. Missing records remain unknown.
Build a clearer vehicle story over time
The Timeline brings supported facts into one newest-first view. It does not replace the original booking, MOT, Wallet, service or repair record.
An empty Timeline does not mean nothing happened. It means BookMOTGarage does not currently hold a supported event for that period.
MOT
Eligible completed tests and approved provider observations.
Services
Garage-confirmed work and private service records added by you.
Repairs
Eligible completed repairs and private repair records.
Inspections
Supported inspection evidence linked to the vehicle.
Mileage
Explicit Web, Android and supported record mileage.
Fuel and charging
Energy entries deliberately recorded in Driver Insights.
A label is part of the record
Every Timeline event carries one source. The label helps you judge the evidence without changing or overstating the original fact.
Driver recorded
Information deliberately entered in this private Passport.
Eligible garage evidence
Supported by a qualifying BookMOTGarage garage or completed-booking record.
Approved provider boundary
Used only when information is received through the approved official MOT connection.
Bounded platform result
A deterministic result based on recorded facts, not an invented diagnosis.
See the amounts held in the Passport
Vehicle Insights can total amounts stored on supported Timeline events. This may include eligible fuel, charging, servicing, repairs, inspections and completed work.
This is not a complete ownership cost, invoice balance, market valuation, forecast, tax figure or accounting statement.
Understand what the cost-per-mile figure means
The running-cost calculation uses fuel and charging entries only. It starts after the first recorded mileage baseline and divides later recorded energy cost by the recorded mileage distance.
- At least two entries at different mileages are needed.
- Fuel and electricity are combined where both were recorded.
- Service, repair, insurance, finance and depreciation are not included.
- Missing entries mean the figure may not represent every journey.
Example only. The actual figure uses the entries saved for your vehicle.
Fuel, charging or both
Petrol, diesel and hybrid vehicles can record fuel. Battery-electric vehicles can record charging. Plug-in hybrids can record both.
BookMOTGarage does not estimate electric-driving percentage, battery health or energy that was never entered.
Your public product page never reads your Timeline
Private history and cost pages resolve the signed-in customer and permitted vehicles on the server. Another driver's vehicle identifier must not reveal whether their records exist.
Timeline events keep only presentation-safe facts. They do not copy booking notes, contact details, protected Wallet values, file contents, provider payloads, tokens or credentials.
Find a garage when the vehicle needs work
Use the established search and booking journey. Eligible completed work can then strengthen the recorded vehicle story without changing the booking outcome.
Questions about this page
What can appear in my Vehicle Timeline?
Supported MOT, booking, mileage, service, repair, inspection, Wallet, reminder, fuel and charging events can appear when the required source record exists.
What does recorded amount total mean?
It is the sum of amounts stored on supported Timeline events. It is not proof of every amount paid or the complete ownership cost.
Does history show the mechanical health of my car?
No. Recorded events and information coverage are not a mechanical inspection, diagnosis or health score.
Does the Timeline replace the original record?
No. It is a presentation-safe vehicle story. The booking, Wallet, MOT, service or repair source remains authoritative for its own information.
Why does every event have a source label?
The label tells you whether the fact was added by you, supported by eligible garage evidence, received through an approved government-source boundary or derived deterministically by the platform.
Will completed BookMOTGarage work appear automatically?
Eligible completed bookings matched to an owned vehicle registration can be projected into the Timeline when the owner opens the supported history journey.
Does an empty Timeline mean the car has no history?
No. It means BookMOTGarage does not currently hold a supported Timeline event for that vehicle or period.
How is recorded cost per mile calculated?
Later fuel and charging cost after the first mileage baseline is divided by the distance between recorded mileage points.
Are service and repair costs included in cost per mile?
No. Combined recorded cost per mile uses fuel and charging entries only. Service and repair amounts may appear separately in Timeline cost summaries.
Does it calculate depreciation, finance or insurance?
No. Those values are not included unless a supported feature explicitly records them, and the current energy cost-per-mile calculation excludes them.
Can I use the figures for tax or accounts?
BookMOTGarage does not provide tax or accounting advice. Use original evidence and a qualified adviser for business or tax decisions.
Does it work for electric and hybrid vehicles?
Yes. The full Vehicle Passport supports petrol, diesel, hybrid, plug-in hybrid and battery-electric vehicles without unsupported battery-health claims.
Build the vehicle story you can explain
Keep supported events together, preserve their source and calculate only from values actually recorded.
